Hibernation

Imagine I'm some small, furry animal, and I'm just peaking out of a nice warm burrow to see whether Spring has arrived yet.

Winter in the UK has never been my favourite time or place, and as I was hoping by now to have been in St Vincent (according to my last blog entry, I would have already been out here for more than a month by now) it's a bit disappointing - well, truth be told, bloody depressing - to still be in the UK.

Roger still hasn't made it out to see his Mum, due to his workload in Holland, and as a result his plans for leaving have been put further and further back. If I'd had any idea the wait was going to be this long, I'd have gone out to help him out a long time ago. Sadly, the guys who used to help him with his plumbing work have deserted him, and he's felt obliged to certain clients to get their jobs done before he sets off.

I'm hoping to see Angel in the next two weeks or so, and then either head off to Holland for a bit, or go directly out to St Vincent when Mum goes. So hopefully, I'll be in the sun in a few weeks time.

In the meantime, I've been sleeping a lot (the reference to hibernation is no joke, I find it incredibly hard to get out of bed these days) and playing Pirates of the Burning Sea, an MMO based on the heyday of piracy in the Caribbean in 1720. Unlike a lot of games these days, it has very simple gameplay based on very complex mechanics, and the PvP aspect is immensely enjoyable. I met a good bunch of people in Beta, and now it's gone live, I've joined up with a well-established guild and we're having a lot of fun establishing the economy and levelling up.
