Testing times
I've finally got my blog back. I forgot to update my contact details with the domain name registrar for bpdlr.org, so I didn't get notified when the domain ran out last month. Thankfully no-one decided to hi-jack it in the meantime.
I'm now two weeks away from my driving test. My instructor has taken me around all the test routes, so the next two weeks will be brushing up on the things I'm not good at: clutch control, mirrors, etc. But however good I feel I am, I'm still making the odd big mistake, which is frustrating. One of those and it's a fail. I've got 4 lessons booked in the next two weeks, and maybe Judy will ask me to drive her to do some shopping as well (which she doesn't charge me for). She's been such a great teacher, I'd recommend her to anyone with a 17-yr old... if I knew anyone with a 17-yr old.
In between lessons however I'm bored and down most of the time. Been downloading a lot of movies - the Bourne trilogy, Harry Potter, Zatoichi - and got some games on the way too. Got bored of Vanguard finally, I can't see it being any fun with the current PvP ruleset. Would love to get on the beta test for Burning Seas, but haven't heard anything from them. Tried the demo of Quake Wars, it's a blast but the same map over and over again gets a bit boring.
Mum's been away at Juanita's for the last week and a half, looking after Freddie while Juanita took some time off from the kids to visit Rhys in NY. Without Mum's nagging, I've been keeping very bad hours, not eating well, and certainly not doing any chores. Sort of my default mode. However much I resent her nagging, at least it keeps me in some form of routine. It's certainly not good for my sanity though.
Once I've got my test done (and I really hope I pass it first time) I will probably go and see Roger again for a while. He's hoping to go out to St Vincent in November, so maybe I'll stay there and go out with him (if they can put up with me for that length of time!).
